In class I will show:
- photos & philters (ok that's fotos and filters) (and the crop tool)
- objects, Edit/Transform menu options and Image/Image size
- text and color picker.

Ways to learn:
- wander around the screen, the toolbox, the pallettes and the menu simply experimenting with no goals in mind!
- focus on learning some Photoshop specific concepts like layers, history, opacity by browsing through the help
- pick a project or an effect you wish and then research how to do it (google is helpful here)
- browse books, online tutorials, blogs .. any Photoshop material you can get your hands on to get ideas. Whether they are relevant right then or not you will learn new techniques that might be applicable somewhere else and you have learned more about a specific set of tools.
