Javascript and DHTML +

The goal of this week is providing various ideas for creating interactivity and action on your website. In many cases, it is best if you don't add too much action on your website. However, it is fun to have a little (depending on your audience). And, it is also fun to feel comfortable working with some of these ideas. The menu on the left is one example. Browse through the menu for other ideas.

NOTE: Remember to always test your web pages in at least two different browsers. I automatically check my pages in Firefox and Internet Explorer. If the pages are going to be widely seen or are a completely new design, I also view them on a Macintosh. Within these pages there are at least 3 examples of the differences between Firefox and IE - all of which don't work well in Firefox. I have left them as examples. If you would like 2 extra credit percentage points (applied to your entire semester's grade) browse through these examples and let me know what the 3 issues are for Firefox along with stating what is the potential problem with this menuing system ... in either browser. I believe the "exercise" of comparing the pages in the two browsers a good way to establish this practice AND a great way to really remember what kind of issues can come up.

Let me know if you have specific questions or specific ideas that you wish to have help pursuing.
