WebSite Evaluation:

There is an concept of how people view websites that goes by the nickname of 3-3-30.  The idea is that when someone hits your website they spend 3 seconds scanning the site to absorb introductory information (what is the site about), 3 seconds figuring out whether they will stay longer (is it at all relevant to what I want) and then 30 seconds actually focused on what the site offers.

In this class participation assignment, you are answering these quesitons in one or two paragraphs for each site. Your evaluations are posted in the class wiki (http://wiki.umt.edu/cs181) since we all can see that easily.

  1. How do the looks, colors, and graphics support the goal of the site?
  2. How the look holds together?
  3. How the navigation supports the goal of the site - does it work well?
  4. Does the site paass the 3-3-30 test.  AKA does the site grab you?  Can you tell immediately what the site is about - can you tell whether it is relevant to your current web browsing interests?
  5. Then you can assume the site has passed the 3-3-30 test and that you're there to stay. Would you buy whatever the site is selling? Would you turn to the site owner's as experts in their field? Would you visit the site again?

Details: You will evaluate 2 sites. Your responses should be no less than 4 sentences/1 paragraph for each of the 2 comps you review (and no more than 2 paragraphs per comp).

Deadline: Friday midnight: April 24th
